Project Overview
The app guide to the holidays at Walt Disney World was a series of consumer facing screens that contained all essential details about the 2023 holiday events across the Walt Disney World Resort. It also enabled ticket purchases as well as ordering and paying for food.

The Problem
How do I unify eight visually distinct brands within one product while also maintaining each brand’s unique identity?

Solution
I looked for foundations of the color system and built everything around that. To create unity, I applied the same core colors to common details across all screens. The core colors were harmonious with each individual brand’s style guide, still allowing those brands to stand out.

Sitemap & Scope

The guide used a hub and spoke navigation model. It included all four theme parks, the Disney Springs shopping and entertainment district, and three seasonal special events.

WDW Holiday Style Guide

I chose green as the foundational common color for the guide due to its versatility and accessibility. This green came from the overarching style guide for the WDW holidays. The softness of 50 was good for backgrounds and 800 worked for copy and small details.

Maintaining Individuality

Now that common colors were established, the visual identities for each park and event had to be distinct, on brand, festive, and accessible.

I used a similar strategy of exploring each style guide and applying color and design elements. Common colors were incorporated as well for visual unity throughout the product.
